In my first year teaching I was assigned two photography classes.
I told my director at the time that I wasn’t very familiar with photography and hadn’t been in a dark room in years. She told me “that’s OK, but you’ll need to learn... quick”.
In the subsequent years, I have developed (no pun intended) a real love of photography. Teaching all levels, including introduction, advanced, and AP Photography, I have made ample use of digital processes to
implement creative
projects.
Sample Project: Light Painting is a form of long exposure photography, in which various light sources are used to create either abstract or representational ‘paintings’ that seem to hang in mid air.
This project developed into a collaboration between myself and almost 20 other schools for around the world. For more information on the Paint the World with Light project, visit the collaborations page.
